Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but Dallas’ love of quality food and drink experiences never ends. This weekend, hone your cooking skills with classes from Salt & Pepper Richardson and the Dallas Farmers Market, or let someone else do the work at a chili cook-off and a cupcake-and-cookie beer pairing. Take a bar crawl through Uptown or a mimosa walk through the Bishop Arts District.

February 17

Valentine Cooking Class

When: 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Cost: $60 per person

Learn the basics of fish cookery from Salt & Pepper catering in Richardson. Bring a date. You’ll certainly win them over with the dreamy menu, which includes wilted greens salad with squash, honey crisp apple, and crispy ham; pan-seared arctic char with sherry glaze and roast cauliflower with toasted pumpkin seeds and lime; and vanilla-filled profiteroles with chocolate sauce.

February 18

4 Year Anniversary Party

When: noon to 6 p.m.

Cost: $30 – $45

Expect food trucks, a photo booth, vendors, live music, and more than 40 different brews. (Tickets include eight free beer samples with the option to purchase more.)

Beer My Valentine Uptown Bar Crawl

When: noon to 5 p.m.

Cost: $14.75

Whether you’re a beer aficionado or appreciate beer of all shades, you’ll find something to love at this Uptown bar crawl. Stick with the group or find your own way from Renfield’s Corner to Idle Rich Pub, Blackfriar Pub, and Nickel and Rye. Your wristband gets you special beer discounts at each bar. Meet up at Eastwood’s for the after-party.

Cupcake-and-Cookie Beer Pairing

When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost: $15

Didn’t get your fair share of Valentine’s treats this year? TUPPS Brewery and Jessica’s Bake Shop will take care of you. Your ticket price includes two cupcakes, three cookies, and five 5-ounce pours of TUPPS beer. Only 50 pairings are available, so snag yours quickly.

Late Winter Harvest Cooking Lesson

When: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Doors open at 11 a.m.)

Cost: $25 by Thursday or $30 at the door

Learn from one of the city’s finest chefs at the Dallas Farmers Market. You’ll probably work up an appetite, but that’s okay—you’ll be making three dishes, and with the guidance of Hotel ZaZa executive chef Dan Landsberg, they’re sure to be delicious. Seats are limited; round up some friends to take advantage of the group rates.

Bishop Arts Mimosa Walk

When: noon to 3 p.m. (Doors open at 11 a.m.)

Cost: Online presale: $20 per person or $60 for four people. (Use promo code ilovemimosas.) Onsite: $25 per person or $80 for four people.

The ticket price includes your glass, wristband, 10 free mimosa samples, and a list of participating shops. Heaven’s Helpers Pet Rescue will also be on the scene showing off adoptable puppies.

North Texas Craft Beer Chili Challenge

When: noon to 4 p.m.

Cost: $10

More than 30 North Texas breweries will make a chili using one of their beers, and you get to help pick the best one. Organized and hosted by Luck at Trinity Groves, the family-friendly competition will benefit the North Texas Food Bank. (Your $10 donation gets you a spoon and 10 tasting cups). All beers used in the chili will be on tap for $5.
