Kent Rathbun Pairs Patron

We love a good wine dinner in Dallas.  On any given night there will be at least two or three wine dinners happening somewhere in the city, along with the growing demand for beer pairing dinners.  With that, sometimes we need a good dose of something else to pair with the delicacies Dallas chefs are creating, like tequila.

Chef Kent Rathbun will begin a series of Patron Tequila dinners at Abacus on August 9th pairing specialty Patron cocktails, created with the help of Patron’s mixologists, with everything from blue crab and spicy tangerine ceviche to ancho and coriander spice rubbed Strube Ranch beef. Reservations required, 214-559-3111.  The other Patron dinners will take place at his Jasper’s locations in Austin and The Woodlands.

Can’t make it in for dinner?  No worries, starting next Monday Abacus will be featuring a Patron Peach Skinny Margarita with Patron Reposado, peach puree and fresh lime juice….sounds healthy enough, certainly tasty enough!
If it is just too hot to leave the house, mix up your own super easy Patron summer cocktail.  I love the Patron Pomegranate with fresh lime, pomegranate and Patron silver.  You could substitute pineapple, ruby red grapefruit or orange juice for the pomegranate too.

Patrón Pomegranate
1 oz. Patrón Silver tequila
1⁄4 oz. Patrón Citrónge orange liqueur
Fresh pomegranate juice
Lime squeeze
Pour Patrón Silver and Patrón Citrónge over ice. Fill with pomegranate juice. Finish with a squeeze of lime. Enjoy.
