Into The Weekend: Lavender Ridge Farm

Interior designer and mom Janet Gridley crossed an item off her “Summer Passport” list last week with a little road trip to Lavender Ridge Farms in Gainsville. Being the kind gal that she is, she sent over a few snaps from her botanical adventure, and now I’m jonesing to go…big time.

photo[5]Lavender starts blooming in our neck of the woods around mid-May and continues through early July… Worried that I’d missed the boat on picking some of my own, I called the farm to see if they were still open. Good news friends, due to our wet spring and (somewhat) mild summer, they’re open all weekend from 9 a.m. -5 p.m.

Janet reports that the farm itself is smallish, so given that it’s an hour drive from Dallas, you may want to tack on another adventure (or two). Luckily Red River Peach Orchard and a slew of antique stores are all within a 13-mile radius of Lavender Ridge.

Happy picking!

Check out more snaps of the lavender goodness after the jump…
