Who she is: Suzanne Droese, power publicist and principal at Droese Public Relations, mom to Will and Henry, 14-year-old twin boys
Why we love her: She spends her days seamlessly juggling the various activities of teenage boys with running her eponymous PR firm where she masterminds highly effective strategies and campaigns for a roster of incredibly chic clients. Oh, and spends her free time (?!) donating her talents to some of Dallas’ most prestigious charity events, including Cattle Baron’s Ball, The Art Ball benefiting the Dallas Museum of Art, and TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art (she was co-chair for the 2010 event which raised a record-setting $4.2 million from the 450 people in attendance). She also happens to to have mastered the ability to at once be laid back and insanely efficient. Suffice to say, we’re in awe.
Herewith a peek into Suzanne’s world.
On heavy rotation: I enjoy a wide variety of music. Lately I’ve been listing to Lil Wayne, the Rolling Stones, Phoenix, Ellie Golding, Florence and The Machine, a little Kelly Clarkson…you name it. And I love the ’80s station in my car, which my children affectionately call the “oldies station.”
What she’s reading: Godsent by Richard Burton. It’s a religious thriller that I can’t put down.
Always in her handbag: My Amex, a Chanel Glossimer, a Smythson notebook, and sunglasses
Her uniform: A crisp white shirt – perfect with everything from a pencil skirt to jeans
Her go-to restaurants: Dragonfly at Hotel ZaZa and Och8 Kitchen+Cocktails
Favorite family outing in Dallas: It sounds really simple, but we love trying out new restaurants together. With two teenagers (one is a total foodie), it’s great to have that uninterrupted time with them. Teenage boys are absolutely fascinating!
Her tip for balancing work and family: Having a strong support network of girlfriends. It’s so comforting to be able to share, commiserate, or lean on strong women who are traveling the same road that you are – whether it’s related to our kids, our careers, or family. And, of course, I keep a calendar so organized it would make Anna Wintour’s assistant jealous!
