Post Malone Meets Fashion

For me, in an abstract sense, Post Malone is everywhere and nowhere. His most recent album has been No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for four straight weeks (the longest reign for any album released this year), and he’s been nominated for four Grammy awards. I’m deeply aware of his presence on this great earth and yet, I don’t know anything about it him, except that he grew up in Grapevine. (I just did a cursory Google search and discovered his real name is Austin — it blew my mind.)

But this weekend, in a physical sense, Post Malone is going to be very much here. His namesake music festival, Posty Fest, is returning (this time to Arlington’s AT&T Stadium) for a second year, with a stacked lineup featuring Pharrell, Meek Mill, Jaden Smith, Doja Cat, Rae Stremmurd, Dallas up-and-comer Yella Beezy, and this Santa who went viral after attending a Kardashian Christmas party. Activities include “free stuff,” “*not* free stuff,” and “jousting.” It’s a whole vibe.

And while I wasn’t surprised to see “guitar smashing” on the festival’s poster, I was excited to learn that Posty (can I call him Posty?) is dabbling in fashion. The singer has teamed up with streetstyle eyewear brand Arnette for his own collection of eco-friendly, sustainably made frames, which he’ll be celebrating with a slew of brand activations throughout the festival, including a Mad Max-inspired bus.

The three sunglass styles were released in tandem with Arnette’s Posty-inspired Street Style Collection, featuring the Bobby (with “echoes of Dallas in the 1970s”) and the Lizard (“cold blooded like Posty’s iguana Karl”). Presumably, all styles, which start at $79, will be available at the festival.

I have so much to learn about Post Malone.
