There’s only so much time you can spend in your house without thinking about all of the rooms and spaces that should be remodeled. Home makeover reality shows that make remodeling look easy are one thing; actually getting the job done right is another. That’s where the professionals come in. And it’s even better if those professionals are award winners. Each year, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) gets the opportunity to show off its valued members’ beautiful work with the Contractor of the Year (CotY) Awards, the industry’s premier honor that recognizes excellence in remodeling in 48 different categories. “Remodeling Done Right” is more than NARI’s tagline; it’s also what homeowners want. Remodeling a home is an investment of time and money, meaning the end result should be more than worth it. The best way to get the remodeled home of your dreams is by choosing an experienced, reputable remodeler. When you learn that the remodeler you are considering is a member of NARI Greater Dallas, you are assured that these criteria (and more) have been met, thanks to extensive vetting for membership into this prestigious group. Consider the NARI business owner, builder, designer, or vendor you choose an ally in the next remodeling project you tackle.

“Our membership shows the community and potential clients we are serious enough about our trade to join this prestigious organization and be accepted, which means we are validated as a professional and ethical organization,” says Jennifer Sherrill, a NARI Master Certified Remodeler, Master Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler, and owner of Kitchen Design Concepts—winner of four 2020 CotY awards. “It also gives us the opportunity to educate our staff by participating in NARI’s extensive certification program. This demonstrates our commitment to continued education and to our trade. Being a member of NARI allows us to network with our peers in the industry that operate to the same standards we do. We can lean on our NARI peers when necessary to help resolve an issue or just to ask a simple question and know the answer is ethical and professional in nature.”

In November 2019, NARI Greater Dallas gathered for a special ceremony to celebrate the best contractors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for an Evening of Excellence, presented by Kohler Signature Store by Facets of Dallas. NARI recognized remodeling firms in over 30 award categories for the 2020 CotY Awards, ranging from Best Residential Kitchen to Best Residential Bath, Interior, Addition, Exterior, Entire House, Historical Renovation, Landscape Design, Contractor of the Year, and more. James Hammel, partner of Alair Homes and a NARI board member, says winning a CotY Award is a symbol of excellence. Alair won 10 awards at the 2020 CotY Awards ceremony, and he attributes the multiple wins to a team of hard-working professionals who are committed to excellence in the home construction, from concept to completion. “Not only is Alair a member of NARI, but many of our vendors and partners are as well,” Hammel says. “When you work with NARI-certified professionals, you know you are working with the best of the best.”

Everyone involved in NARI’s Contractor of the Year Awards is a winner, from the award recipients to the homeowners now living in their beautifully remodeled spaces—and now, you.
