Native Texans have never needed a reason to hike their hair (after all, the higher the hair, the closer to God), but now that the trend is in, everybody’s going big. The look, however, is often easier dreamed than done. I have long, straight, heavy hair, so adding volume is a challenge. I’ve tried just about everything out there, from shampoos and conditioners to different brushes and styling products, all with disappointing results. Needless to say, I was a skeptic when I came across Root 66 Max Volume, Giovanni Organic Hair Care‘s “directional root lifting spray.” I tried it last week (sprayed it into my roots, then flipped my hair to dry upside down for extra va-va-voom), and I was so Barbarella—in a good way. My lofty locks stayed put all night, a truly monumental achievement in my life. And the next day, the ‘do still had some bounce. The greatest part, the 8.5 oz. bottle retails for less than $10. With hat’s so hot for fall and winter, it’s a must to save your hair from hat head.
