Fashion Fix

Ever wonder where you can get a vintage dress at an affordable price? Ahab Bowen is perfect for that last-minute party dress, clutch, or jewelry—and you are guaranteed that no one else will have it. Don’t make this a one-time effort. Every visit is a new experience. 2614 Boll St. 214-720-1874. As for shoes, Coach heels are my favorite find this year. They are cute, comfortable, and, most important, they fit! The sizes tend to run bigger, so if you are an 11 go ahead and ask for the 10. It may be your lucky day. Coach, NorthPark Center. 618 NorthPark Center. 214-696-1772. www.coach.com.

Style Pick: Haute Watch
I love my Full-Blooded Swatch watch. It’s big and gold and looks great dressed up or casual. I’ve worn it to a wedding or just hanging out poolside. Swatch is redesigning its watches, opting for more trend-conscious pieces. The best part? It looks expensive but retails for only $125 and now comes in black, blue, pink, or silver. Swatch, NorthPark Center, 8687 N. Central Expwy. 214-361-4088. www.swatch.com.

Cool Curls
I’m really picky about products for my curly hair. The key for me is texture and smoothness. I want my curls to be loose, springy, and soft to the touch, so I need something that controls frizz without too much hold. I’ve tried all kinds of brands at different price points, and Frederic Fekkai’s Luscious Curls collection is by far the best and one of the more affordable. Made with honey nectar and ginseng, these products define my curls—despite all the blasted humidity we’ve had of late. Pricier brands just can’t compete. Available at Bath & Body Works, Galleria Dallas, 13350 Dallas Pkwy. 972-788-3229. www.bathandbodyworks.com.

Protein Power
Egg white protein powder is a must for any girl on the go. This flavorless white powder mixes easily with oatmeal, smoothies, and yogurt, with no artificial taste or texture. I take a scoop with me to the gym and have it blended into a berry smoothie each morning. It’s the easiest way for me to get the protein I need to slim down and build muscle in my workouts. Available at Central Market, 5750 E. Lovers Ln. 214-234-7000. www.centralmarket.com.

Eye Opener
After a long night out, the perfect remedy for my dark under-eye circles is Babor High Skin Refiner Lifting Eye Cream. Worn under makeup or used as a masque, it’s a moisture-packed lotion that leaves my skin looking firm, bright, and rested. Plus, a small amount goes a long way, so it lasts forever. Available at the Face & Body Day Spa, 1221 Legacy Dr., Frisco. 972-668-6108. www.faceandbodyspas.com.

Hair Affair
I was ready for a change, and that required a new hairstylist. A friend recommended Jessica Watts at Uptown Hair Studio, a quaint yet modern salon opened by Michael Landers. I was super nervous about trying someone new—I had been going to the same person for almost seven years—but she made me feel 100 percent comfortable and listened carefully to everything I said. Though the change was subtle, I loved what she did. I even went back the following week for color, and the result was fabulous. 2707 Guillot St. 214-922-9997.

Fitness Pick: To the Core
Exhale’s Core Fusion class, combining core conditioning, Pilates, and yoga, is simply amazing! I have seen major results since starting to attend three times a week in March. I definitely have longer, leaner muscles, and my body’s alignment and flexibility have never been better. You always get individualized attention, no matter how big the class. I am a junkie! Exhale Spa at Hotel Palomar, 5670 N. Central Expwy. 214-370-5800. www.exhalespa.com.

About Face
When I saw a woman walk out of EpiCentre with absolutely glowing skin, I simply said, “I’ll have what she just had.” Turns out it was microdermaplaning, a 30-minute procedure similar to microdermabrasion; the removal of hormonal “fuzz” hair is the main difference. My skin has never looked better or felt smoother. EpiCentre at Baylor Tom Landry Health & Wellness Center, 411 N. Washington Ave., Ste. 5000. 214-887-1577. www.epicentre-dallas.com.

Food Pick: Morning Buzz
I always feel great after breakfast at the Kozy Kitchen. Omelets and breakfast tacos are made with organic eggs and tortillas, the serving size is filling but not overwhelming, and there are no greasy potatoes to make me sluggish. Of course, if I’m feeling a little bad, I’ll order a slice of the house-made coffee cake, which is totally fantastic with a cup of joe. 4433 McKinney Ave. 214-219-5044. www.thekozy.net.

Perfect Pluck
Aesthetician Taft Baker makes my brows look groomed and natural instead of overplucked and arch-y. She does such a good job on me that there is seldom any additional plucking or cutting required. She’s tested several wax products on herself to make sure what she’s using is the best and most comfortable. She also offers IonCleanse, Ionithermie detox, massage, and facials, and she’s constantly attending classes to try and augment her services. Skin and Body Rejuvenation Clinic, 3626 N. Hall St. 214-521-4197. www.rejuvenatedlife.com.

Look Polished
I rarely get manicures because I can never keep my hands still long enough for the polish to dry. But now that I’ve discovered Sally Hansen Natural Shine Instant Nail Finish, my nails always look great. It’s a clear polish that dries within seconds and gives my nails a clean, buffed look with a little shine. It’s perfect when you don’t have time to get a full manicure or if you’re just too impatient, like me. Available at CVS. Visit www.cvs.com for locations.

Massage Envy
Tee Torre
is far from your average massage therapist. She always takes the time to consult with you about specific needs. Her goal is to relieve your body of pain and stress while offering healing techniques for a healthier lifestyle. Her hot rock massage therapy begins when she warms your body with towels and lines your back, neck, and shoulders with rocks heated to 140 degrees. As the massage progresses and your tissues begin to soften, she applies hot, moist towels to the massaged areas. As you redress in the comfort of her Zen Oasis, you’ll notice increased circulation and skin that glows anew. Tee Torre Therapeutics, 3636 Dickason Ave., Ste. 1. 214-871-2211. www.teetorretherapeutics.com.
