Alex Rodriguez, Keeping it Real

|

Apparently, the former Ranger is pals with billionaire Warren Buffett. So says the New York Times‘ Murray Chass in a column I can’t for the life of me figure out the point of. (Buffett likes baseball? Chass has a quota?) One other tidbit that’s relevant here: After Tom Hicks signed Rodriguez to that infamous 50-year, trillion-dollar contract (all figures approximate), one of Buffett’s insurance companies was the only outfit willing to write up Rodriguez’s giant permanent disability policy, to the tune of $260 million.

(Ladies: Yes, another sort-of sports post. But there’s no man candy here for you, unless you consider an almost octogenarian in a baseball uniform hot. I’m not judging you.)
