The annual fundraiser is back for its 27th year, and more than 100 restaurants across D-FW are participating. Our dining critic and food editor are here to help you choose.

Anise is one our picks this year. Snag a reservation if you can.

Reservations for DFW restaurant week went up last month, and the specials are approaching.

Dining at one of these restaurants means about 20 percent of the meal will be donated to either the North Texas Food Bank or Lena Pope, depending on if you dine in Dallas or Tarrant County. In our opinion, it’s a great opportunity to try a restaurant that may be on your list for a discounted price. Meals start at $24 for lunch.

DFW Restaurant Week is Aug. 7 through 13, but some restaurants will offer preview dinners this weekend. Dining specials will run through Sept. 3 at some restaurants, which means a whole month of specials.

Dining critic Brian Reinhart and I checked out the list and found a few places we’ve been known to frequent. Here are our picks.
