Happy Memorial Day Weekend to you all. May your days and nights be filled with eating and drinking local. Last week a couple of loyal readers filed reports on their dining experiences. One “finally tried the lasagna at Cane Rosso White Rock” and found it “delicious.” The place was , as expected! I didn’t ask, but the pasta seemed homemade. We got there at 6:00 hoping to beat the crowd “packed at 6:00pm” so they ate at the bar.

Same team visited Meso Maya for the first time. They found the chiles rellenos were “not your run-of-the-mill” variety. Ditto for the cucumber margarita. They headed to Cold Beer Company for Tuesday burgers, the only day they serve burgers, and pronounced them “pretty top notch.”

Another regular writer claims chef DAT’s food has “achieved a new level of elegance and execution” at.Twenty Seven. They attended the Oak Cliff Cellars wine dinner and enjoyed the wine pairings.

Screw the rain. Get out our wellies and eat. And remember to honor the men and women of this country who dedicate their lives to make sure you can pick and choose where you eat.
