Abraham Alexander

November 16, 7 p.m.| Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall

Local guy gone big Abraham Alexander will headline Gladney Center for Adoption’s Gladney Rocks, an event that will include a strolling dinner, music, and more. There are tables and individual tickets still available. Read more about Alexander in this piece from our June issue. Get tickets.

Doja Cat

November 16, 7:30 p.m.| American Airlines Center

Rapper and singer Doja Cat picked up her first chart-topper this year with “Paint The Town Red,” and has also kicked off her first headlining tour. In September, she released Scarlet, the 15-track follow-up to 2021’s Planet Her. Judging from previous setlists, you’ll be hearing the aforementioned “Paint the Town Red,” but also hits “Get Into It (Yuh)” and “Kiss Me More.” Doechii opens. Get tickets.

Matt Rife

November 16, 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.| Toyota Music Factory, Irving

It seems like nobody knew who Matt Rife was. Then, a video snippet of one of his sets in Iowa went viral, and suddenly, he is everyone’s internet boyfriend. “Who the heck is Matt Rife, and why am I seeing him everywhere?” a friend asked three months ago. She’s no longer asking that question, and I’m pretty sure she saw him Wednesday night at Will Rogers Memorial Auditorium in Fort Worth. Rife’s two shows at Toyota Music Factory on Thursday are sold out, but you can still find seats on StubHub. Get tickets.

Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Ricky Martin

November 17, 7 p.m.| American Airlines Center

Twenty-four years ago, Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias topped music charts with songs like “She Bangs” and “Bailamos” as part of a massive explosion of Latin pop in the U.S., and Pitbull followed their lead in 2004 with his album M.I.A.M.I. All three are currently touring together The Trilogy Tour, which kicked off in October with 19 dates and was recently extended to include a second leg that will last through March. Get tickets.

George Strait

November 17–18| Dickies Arena, Fort Worth

For the third year in a row, King George is heading to Cowtown for two nights of country music. While some thought he was done performing when he retired in 2014, it’s since become clear that George Strait instead planned to dip out of touring as he’s been popping up around the state for concerts and festivals in the years that have followed. Expect plenty of ’90s country favorites, along with the newer stuff he’s released since 2014. Catie Offerman opens. Get tickets.

Deep Ellum Music Festival

November 18, Noon| Deep Ellum

Deep Ellum has been celebrating its 150th birthday all year long. It kicks off the inaugural Deep Ellum Music Festival with an array of musical genres, including performances from Cure for Paranoia, The 40 Acre Mule, The Grays, Cayuga All-Stars, DJ Christy Ray, Rev Run of Run-DMC, Doug E. Fresh, and Bowling for Soup. The festival, which will be held at the corner of Main Street and Good Latimer Expressway, is free. Get details.

Revelation & Celebration: Black History and Culture

November 18–19| Dallas Museum of Art

The DMA is hosting a free community weekend celebrating Black history and culture with food trucks, poetry, art, tours, and film showings. The event will showcase the exhibition Afro-Atlantic Histories and will also include a screening of the Dallas Mavericks’ next HUDDLE session featuring the D.O.C. Following the screening, Dallas Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation executive director Jerry Hawkins will be joined in conversation by the D.O.C. to talk about the influence Dallas artists have had on the hip-hop community nationally and internationally. Both days are free to attend. Get details.

The National

November 19, 7:30 p.m.| Toyota Music Factory, Irving

The National has been together since 1999, but it took 2007’s Boxer (their fourth album) to really gain widespread attention. Incredibly, we got two albums from them in 2023—First Two Pages of Frankenstein and Laugh Track, which were released in the spring and fall, respectively. More recently, they appeared on Dallas native Norah Jones’s podcast, where they recorded a special rendition of “Sea of Love.” Get tickets.

Wynonna Judd

November 19, 7:30 p.m.| Majestic Theatre

Wynonna Judd made her name as one-half of the mother-daughter duo The Judds before embarking on a solo career. Her 15-city Back to Wy tour stops off in Dallas on Sunday. The show features songs off her first two solo albums—1992’s Wynonna and 1993’s Tell Me Why, performed track by track, followed by several of her other hits that include her time with The Judds. Get tickets.
