Country, rap, funk, blues and more: There's an embarrassment of riches when it comes to music choices this weekend.

Killer Mike and the Midnight Revival

August 4, 7 p.m.| House of Blues

Half of Run the Jewels and the owner of a 30 year rap career, Killer Mike has also delved into the world of activism, too. His High & Holy tour will bring a mix of fan-favorites and tracks from his latest album, Michael. It comes with a choir, so expect the highlights of his latest album to hit even harder. Trackstar the DJ and local legend Bobby Sessions will open. Get tickets

Black Joe Lewis

August 4, 8 p.m.| Tulips, Fort Worth

Many music festival attendees got their first taste of Austin’s Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears in 2009, when he played both SXSW and the Austin City Limits Festival in support of the band’s sophomore effort, Tell ‘Em What Your Name Is. Four albums later, he’s amassed a following who are drawn to his Albert King-like blues riffs that punctuate songs that are alternately funk, soul, or country—or all of the above. The night will also include Nik Parr & The Selfless Lovers and Cut Throat Finches. Get tickets

Post Malone

August 5 and 6 | Dos Equis Pavilion

Don’t let a little (OK, a lot) of heat scare you away from the Dallas stop for North Texas’ own Post Malone this weekend. The Grapevine High graduate will bring his If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying tour to Dos Equis Pavilion in Fair Park for two nights in support of his latest album, Austin, which was released last week. Beach Fossils will open. Get tickets

George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic

August 5, 6:30 p.m.| Toyota Music Factory, Irving

The legendary George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic have been exploring psychedelic funk for 50 years, and they claim that this will be their last tour (maybe, possibly, probably). There’s never a setlist—Clinton has said “It’s the number one no-no”—but expect to hear plenty from the extremely robust catalog. Dumpstaphunk, George Porter, and Fishbone will open. Get tickets

Clint Black

August 5, 10 p.m.| Billy Bob’s Texas, Fort Worth

If you like your country music wearing starched jeans and firmly in the 90s, take a trip out to Cowtown for a Saturday night of honky tonking is going to be your jam. Clint Black will take the stage at 10 p.m. and will undoubtedly bring a setlist that includes “A Better Man,” “Killin’ Time,” and “Nothin’ But the Taillights.” Get tickets
