With FBI agents investigating possible wrongdoing on behalf of public officials and local housing developers, it’s worth asking this question: What should the city do right now regarding similar projects that receive tax credits?
According to this story, the mayor wants to:
Immediately call for a “moratorium for an unspecified length” for considering or accepting such tax credits for low-income, multifamily housing.
At least two members of the Council say:
The Council should vote on the proposal before taking action and look at the projects on an individual basis.

Even more interesting, the Council is currently in recess until Aug. 3, which will actually be a briefing session, and won’t meet in regular session until Aug. 10. Meanwhile, the City Plan Commission meets tomorrow morning.
