KICKBACK CITY

|

The Observer’s Jim Schutze is back this week with another harrowing tale of how the city attorney’s office is misusing the nuisance law to (unintentionally) encourage police corruption. It makes my heart sink to think this is the kind of city government we have now in Dallas–and that black ministers have put their stamp of approval on it.

Once again, I have to ask: Why hasn’t the Austin bureau of the News (the facts come from a legislative hearing) jumped all over this story? If they had before the election, voters might have seen their City Hall in an entirely different light.
