In addition to running a successful residential and commercial development company, Kim Olusanya also designs her own women’s clothing line—called The Kim O Collection—promoting body positivity and confidence. But the serial entrepreneur says that it is her nonprofit work with Action with Compassion to help victims of domestic violence get assistance with education and counseling to give them a better quality of life that brings her true joy. Whether she is dressing up for a black-tie gala or on a construction site, Olusanya says her style changes daily to fit whatever hat she’s wearing for the day. Read on:

What I Do: “As CEO of Charter Hospitality, I lead a commercial and residential development company that manages affordable housing projects across DFW. Through these properties, we also help domestic violence victims with affordable shelter while they heal and recover from their traumatic circumstances.”

Style Icons: “Katharine Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy, and Michelle Obama when I am in the mood for a polished structured look. Other times I lean toward Tracee Ellis Ross because she is not afraid of bold colors—and even bolder hair.”

On The Job: “My style changes daily and fits whatever professional or personal hat I’m wearing for that day. In the office, I’m always ready to get down and dirty with my team with hard hats and protective gear. But when the time requires, I easily change into glam mode without missing a beat.”

Fashion Inspiration: “My energy determines my style. I wear what makes me happy. I believe clothing should be an expression of how you feel or desire to feel. The perfect glam and heels have the power to change your mood.”

Style Defined: “Timeless, polished, feminine, and empowering.”

Go-To Look: “Give me a wide-leg, high-waisted pant with a Stella McCartney flatform loafer any day.”

How I Accessorize: “My hair units, wigs, and makeup are must-have accessories. Miguel of Dallas always pushes me to show the more vibrant side of my personality. Whether we are styling my pink hair or having fun with rhinestones on my eyelids, my personality shows—and that’s really the only accessory you need.”
