Dallas County to pay for Jenkins mask lawsuit from general fund. Masks now optional on DART.

KERA News says that Dallas County is having to pay four County Judge Clay Jenkins mask lawsuit legal fees out of the general fund. Three Dallas County commissioners voted to pay for legal services in Jenkins’ lawsuit against Governor Greg Abbott. Read the story here.


KERA reports that a UT Southwestern study shows blood pressure rates have increased during COVID-19 pandemic. This has long term health effects like strokes and heart attacks.


The Justice Department will appeal the most recent mask ruling only if CDC says mandate is still needed. A federal judge recently ruled that masks are no longer required in airports and for air travel. Read more from the Dallas Morning News here.
