Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine should be 90 percent effective. Dallas saw 848 new cases.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 848 new cases on Monday with two new deaths.


New data from Pfizer’s new COVID-19 vaccine shows that the show will be 90 percent effective at preventing the virus. Following this success, the pharmaceutical company plans to apply for FDA emergency-use approval, The Dallas Morning News reported.


Over 6,000 Texans are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 with 5,000 new cases on Sunday. There were 43 confirmed deaths, an increase compared to the previous week, The Texas Tribune reported.


Tarrant County saw nearly 460 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, a slight decline compared to previous days of record-high cases. There were three deaths across the county, all men in their 50s and 60s, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
