Dallas County sets a record in new cases for the fourth straight day. Texas marks another hospitalization high.

Dallas County reported a new record high of 572 new COVID-19 cases, a high for the fourth day in a row. There was just one death, though the number of people hospitalized in Dallas County is 611, The Dallas Morning News reports.

WFAA reported on the difference between private and public test results, with most private tests taking just three days for results, and public tests taking an average of eight days. Quest diagnostics, which processes many of the tests ran 400,000 in March, and 5.3 million in June.

In Texas Monthly, an internal medicine doctor from Houston wrote about how the state’s expansion of Medicaid coverage could help mend the broken economy, even though he was initially against the expansion. Read more here.
