1. Well, if you haven’t caught wind of this morning’s news already, Belly & Trumpet has closed. According to Teresa Gubbins at CultureMap, Saturday was the last dinner service. Chef Brian Zenner will focus on Oak, and it’s possible that owners Tiffanee and Richard Ellman might reconcept the location. We named it one of the 10 Best New Restaurants last year, and we are sad to see it go.
2. Remember when Fedora caught fire in May? It was supposed to reopen, but it didn’t. Sarah Blaskovich reported that it has been confirmed by a spokesperson that it is permanently closed.
3. TJ’s Fresh Seafood Market is having a ‘Yacht Christening’ event tonight, September 3, for their new space at 6025 Royal Lane. Join in the grand opening festivities, eat some seafood, and see the ceremonial champagne bottle broken over the ‘bough.’
