Urbino's prosciutto panini and Dude Sweet chocolate bar with Amarone sauce

Just dropped into the new Urbino space on Henderson Avenue. A friend asked me if it was HiHe (High Henderson) or LoHe (Lower Henderson). Because in Dallas, we’re all about the neighborhood branding. It’s in the new shopping strip across from the old Cuquita’s, sandwiched between Sushi Axiom and yet another frozen yogurt shop. I guess that makes it MidHe. Anyway, the space is bright and airy, and the Urbino kids are still getting their sealegs. One of the owners told me they had only been open six days. The pizzas sound intriguing: blanco (ricotta, mozzarella, garlic, oregano, and chicken), carni (a meat lovers with Italian sausage, pepperoni, salami, roasted tomato and garlic), and lox (smoked salmon, chive ricotta, capers, hard boiled egg, and lemon) to name three. I had the prosciutto, brie, and fig pannini (tasty) and the Dude! Sweet! chocolate bar with Amarone sauce for dessert (fudgy and decadent). Urbino feels like a good fit with the up-and-coming neighborhood: fair prices, good food, and relaxed atmosphere.
