Long-suffering FrontBurnervians know about Kim Gatlin’s book Good Christian Bitches because Sarah told them about it awhile back. Say what you will about the book’s theme, the dialogue, its structure, whatever. But the title is undeniably catchy. Which is why I giggled when I saw this morning that Alan Peppard couldn’t print part of the title in his column. The paper can print “Butthole Surfers” but not “Good Christian Bitches”? I, for one, am much more offended by a vulgar slang term for the anus and by the notion of someone surfing thereon (or therein?) than I am by a common word for an ill-tempered female.
Peppard, don’t be such a wussy.
