A couple of people have asked about Nancy’s absence on the blog. Here’s the story, as I understand it: Nancy’s thumb blew up. Wicked bad arthritis. Literally, the whole thing collapsed. So she had to have it rebuilt, using part of a monkey paw. (Don’t worry. Free-range monkey.) She’ll be completely out of commission for two weeks, zonked out on horse tranquilizers and stuff. Then she’s not supposed to use that hand for two months. She’s been working with some speech-recognition software to do her restaurant reviews, but I don’t know how that’s going to work with the blog. The surgery was Tuesday. It went well. Drop her a note. I’m sure she’d appreciate it.
