The excellent and formerly McClatchy-owned Contra Costa Times says that impending owner William Dean Singleton (remember him, anyone?) has a master plan to get newspapers into the online profit zone with a huge combo play of his other Metro News Group Bay area properities, plus maybe the Hearst-owned Chronicle. If nothing else, should make for interesting reading over at Belo, as soon as it figures out what the Internet is.
