Gilt Groupe, Dallas Style

Surely you know of Gilt Groupe at this point. If you don’t, a) you’re out of the loop and b) you need to sign up asap. The company offers what they call “invitation only” online shopping–although it’s not difficult to get an “invitation.” An edited selection of designer deals are up for grabs every day. Women’s, men’s, home, children’s, and gift sections include a variety of sales with high-end jewelry, under-the-radar shoe lines, Seven jeans, heavy designer pieces (Thakoon, Michael Kors, Nina Ricci, and more), watches, wallets, candles, home accessories, and even travel packages. Now, Gilt has started an “Inspired from” program, where sales target individual cities. First stop: Dallas. A few local ladies apparently threw their suggestions in the what-Dallas-gals-wear hat, and Gilt editors have created a sale based on the ideas. The sale starts tomorrow at 11 am and will feature said selection of Dallas-y goods. To preview the collection, click here. Need a super exclusive invite? Follow this super secretive link. From the preview:

The Dallas motto is “Live Large. Think Big.,” and it shows in this bold, colorful selection inspired by reports from the front lines courtesy of our Texan Gilt Ambassadors. We especially love the silk skirts and thigh-grazing dresses rendered in bright prints, plus equally daring bib necklaces, sandals, and bags.

Will we ever live down the “big” thing?

*Update: the link to the invite is working now! Sorry, guys. I guess I forgot the http part.
