Sometimes it’s not feasible to break away for a full vacation or even a weekend getaway. But that shouldn’t stop you and your S.O. from enjoying a weekend of relaxation. Book a two-night stay at one of Dallas’ premier hotels as your destination.

THE BELMONT HOTEL

Neighborhood: Oak Cliff

Plan your check-in for a Friday afternoon to give yourself ample time to explore the historic neighborhood surrounding the hotel. Start your evening with a Southern-style meal and a cocktail or two at Hattie’s in the Bishop Arts District. Go for the full effect with a sweet tea martini to accompany your bacon-wrapped, jalapeno-stuffed quail. After your meal, venture over to Emporium Pies for a shareable treat. On Friday evenings the hotel lounge has live music. Also, the hotel is home to one of Dallas’ best happy hour spots: BarBelmont.

THE W HOTEL

Neighborhood: Downtown

This elegant hotel is right next to some of Dallas’ biggest attractions, including the American Airlines Center, where you and your sweetheart can cheer on the Mavs, the Stars, or catch a concert. Before the show, trick your minds into thinking this staycation is a real vacation by dining at Medina, a tiny Moroccan restaurant with authentic flavors inspired by the owner’s hometown of Marrakech. Ask Sam to guide you through his unique menu and to recommend his favorite Moroccan wine. Book a massage for two at the Bliss Spa inside the hotel and spend the day relaxing poolside on the Wet Deck. Eager to continue your cultural adventure? Check out the Dallas Museum of Art for special exhibits.

THE LUMEN

Neighborhood: University Park

Instead of staying indoors, enjoy the hip vibe of Lower Greenville in the sunshine. Snag a table on the rooftop patio at HG Sply Co and have a creative competition with your partner selecting a delicious combination of ingredients for your customizable bowls. Revel in the culture of this trendy neighborhood by walking the length of the strip (A stop at Steel City Pops is highly recommended.), and end your evening with a few drinks at Truck Yard. Head back to the hotel for its inviting pool.

THE JOULE

Neighborhood: Downtown

Treat your loved one (and yourself) to some of Dallas’ best shopping at the flagship Neiman Marcus store just a few feet away from The Joule hotel. After you’ve spent the day shopping, continue pampering yourself at the hotel spa. In the evening, try out one of Dallas’ newest hotspots right there inside the hotel: Americano, whose theme is inspired by the 1960’s Italian cinema. In the evening, look for the yellow neon sign next to a staircase to the left of the main entrance. Follow the sign (and your heart) reading “cocktails” to the basement of the hotel to the Midnight Rambler, where you can enjoy a beautiful craft cocktail and selections from the hotel’s other restaurant, CBD Provisions.

NYLO DALLAS SOUTH SIDE

Neighborhood: Deep Ellum

Book one of four glamorous staycations offered by the lofty NYLO Hotel, ranging from champagne and rose petals to car service and four-course dining. The location of this modern hotel offers easy access to Deep Ellum and an endless look into the artsy Dallas scene. Explore this eclectic neighborhood during the Deep Ellum Wine Walk, which happens every third Thursday of the month, while you sip and savor wines from participating venues. If you lovebirds prefer hops to aged oak, head over to Off the Record, a funky bar and vinyl shop offering local brews and a great atmosphere. Impress your sweetheart by knowing the password to Truth & Alibi, the secret speakeasy hidden behind a cheery candy shop front. End the night toasting to your love at NYLO’s chic rooftop Soda Bar.
