Did you make it to the White Rock Home Tour this year? How about the one on Swiss Avenue, or the Hollywood Height’s tour, or even Park Cities’? Fret not, absentee architecture-lover. There are still plenty of home tours that are just as thrilling. Below, we’ve put together a nifty guide to help you find the right tour for you.
Modern Mile Home Tour | Oct. 1
If you love a good home tour, but don’t dig all the driving, this is your event. The celebration of modern architecture focuses on homes located along one, walkable square mile in Preston Hollow, including a Gordon Nichols’ home, a creek side Midcentury Modern, and a colorful “Braniff” house designed in the 1960s. Tickets start at $15 and are available at modernmiledallas.com.
Casa View Cliff May Home Tour | Oct. 15
There are two reasons this seven-stop tour looks cool. The first: friendly Casa View is a Dallas neighborhood on the rise, so it certainly deserves our attention. Secondly, architect Cliff May’s cool, California-style Ranch homes have only gotten more popular with time. Tickets are available for just $10 on the tour’s Eventbrite page.
AIA Dallas Tour of Homes | Oct. 29 & 30
The 10th anniversary of this annual tour celebrates the best in residential architecture, regardless of neighborhood. Curated exclusively by AIA Dallas architects, this year’s tour features homes in the Urban Reserve, Midway Hollow, Bluffview, and more. Premiere party attendees will also get a chance to view the famed “Dump Top” home behind the Belmont Hotel (the last home designed by local architect Bill Booziotis). Tickets go for $75 to $100, and are available at www.hometourdallas.com.

Vickery Place Home Tour | Nov. 5
If you admire careful renovations and one of our city’s oldest (and increasingly hip) neighborhoods, this home tour is for you. Stops range from a 1912 Craftsman to a Modern Prairie house in the Lower Greenville area, and all proceeds will benefit the SPCA of Texas, the Robert E. Lee Elementary School PTA, and Vickery Place home improvements. Tickets start at $20 and are available at vickeryplace.com.
Lakewood Home Festival | Nov. 11-13
If you prefer your home tours themed, save the date for Lakewood’s annual festival. The event kicks off with a Hollywood-themed auction party at the Belo Mansion on November 11, followed by two days touring Lakewood’s distinctive examples of the latest architectural trends, as well as historic restoration done right. Tickets to the party and tour are available on lecpta.org, and benefit Lakewood schools.
