As you might already know, the art and light festival Aurora is happening Friday all around the Arts District. Some 86 pieces of public artwork will spring up for the occasion.

Tonight, however, there’s a conversation with one of the participating artists, John Ensor Parker, and UTD aesthetic studies professor  Dr. Charissa N. Terranova. Parker is part of 3_Search, a Brooklyn media art collective that is contributing a huge projection on the facade of the Wyly Theatre during Aurora. This evening’s event is free to attend, but you can RSVP here.

Even though the Joule Hotel’s newest additions, Weekend Coffee and TenOverSix, have been open for a bit, tonight marks the officially-official grand opening. Stop by for a party that includes refreshments, live entertainment from Wild Child and Doom & Gloom, a DJ set by Robert Schwartzman, and short films by LA photographer and Bad Day Magazine creator Eva Michon. You might even find something that deserves to a permanent home in your closet.

For more to do tonight, go here.
