A lot of humans have this rainy day off in honor of a real paragon of the species. Enjoy it.
Tonight, Shakespeare Dallas and the AT&T Performing Arts Center present the second staged reading of Timon of Athens, the story of a rich lord who was generous to a fault. He lends his buddies money and throws lavish parties until, one day, he finds himself broke. He then calls in his friends’ debts, only to get excuses instead. Naturally, Timon finds himself more than a little hacked off. Tickets are just ten bucks, and the reading takes place in Hamon Hall at the Winspear Opera House.
Elsewhere, Belly and Trumpet in Uptown has started a neat Monday night deal. There’s a special menu that includes a burger, crab beignets, and lamb sliders, plus drinks from guest bartender Jules Pagan of Cedars Social and free valet. If you happen to work in the service industry, the food menu is half price.
