Happy Friday! There’s a lot going on in our fair city. Restaurants are opening all over the place. Have you been to some of the hot newcomers?

Last week RodD filed an awesome report on On The Lamb, chef Ross Demers (Mansion, Mi Piaci, The Commissary, Oak) little spot in Deep Ellum RodD felt the charcuterie board was “instantly forgettable” and the pimento cheese was “extremely salty.” He and his wife “waited 45 minutes for lamb pappardelle.” He’s a forgiving guy and claims he “can forgive opening jitters and off nights”and plans to return.

The Guy visited 20 Feet Seafood Joint, chef Marc Cassel’s casual seafood spot in East Dallas. He likes “the lobster roll, fried oysters and the superb fried cod” but feels he needs to shout from the mountain tops about Cassel’s fries. “These are the best French fries in the city of Dallas,” he shouts.

It didn’t take long for VMA to agree: “I went two weeks ago and ordered the French fries because I had seen all the buzz here and it was true. The best in town. The mussels didn’t live up to my Green Room memory, but I still love 20 Feet.”

What shall you tout and shout from the mountaintop this week?
