Temperatures are dropping all the way down to (drum roll please) the ’70s! Now we can actually look forward to going outside, rather than dreading it. So, my fellow Dallasites, what shall we do this weekend?

Thursday, September 29

Chef For a Night
Bring your chef hat to this event and assist chef Vijay Sadhu of Cook Hall with creating a four-course meal. Tickets are $125 per person and include wine pairings.

Polka On the Patio
This Thursday, change up your typical happy hour by heading over to Oddfellows’ Polka On the Patio. This happy hour includes live Polka music, drink specials, and pitchers of beer.

Friday, September 30

Spooky Camp Out, Movie Night & Camp Side Breakfast
This event is for those who want to get outdoors. Head out to Forney with your tent and favorite campfire songs. Enjoy a children’s Halloween movie, complete with a bonfire and s’mores. Wake up to a breakfast before you had back home. Just register your family members and grab your nature gear.

Saturday, October 1

Plano International Festival
This Saturday, downtown Plano is hosting an “International Fest” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Experience a multitude of cultures by watching a flag parade, and while celebrating and appreciating art exhibits from more than 100 different cultures. While you are there, be sure to try the authentic food samples at the ethnic food court.

Pancakes and Booze Art Show
This weekend is Dallas’ largest underground art show, and you can attend for just five bucks. The Art Show features more than 80 up-and-coming artists as well as live music performances. The event runs from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. and includes a free pancake bar. (In our book, it’s never too late for breakfast!)

All weekend

State Fair of Texas 2016
That’s right everyone, it’s that time of the year. Make way for the State Fair of Texas. If you are craving fried food, you should mark your calendars (if you are dieting, this is the perfect event for your cheat day). It’s opening weekend, so be prepared for a crowded environment, and some good ole’ Southern pride.
