Andy Payne has been a personal injury trial lawyer for 29 years, 21 of those serving clients in his own practice, Payne Mitchell Ramsey. His breadth of experience in catastrophic personal injury cases gives him an edge when representing clients who are going through the most challenging times of their lives. “It has been immensely satisfying to help people in a meaningful way,” he says.

Payne has particularly enjoyed cases that bring about positive safety changes, such as product liability cases where a defect in the design has caused harm. Because of his team’s efforts, many products are redesigned to be safer, or warnings are added to products that advise of potential hazards. “There is great satisfaction in helping our clients, as well as helping people we don’t even know so that these tragic incidents don’t happen to someone else,” he says. “It is a privilege to help people, get justice for them, and improve the world for everyone in a positive way.”

Board certified in personal trial law and civil law and a leader in the local and state bar associations, Payne is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and an associate in the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has been selected by Thomson Reuters as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Texas Super Lawyer and was listed by U.S. News & World Report as Lawyer of the Year in Dallas-Fort Worth for personal injury litigation (2021) and products liability litigation (2015, 2019). Most importantly, Payne loves spending time with his wife and daughters.
