Happenings // Silk Road Lounge at the Crow Collection
Once a month, the Crow Collection of Asian Art turns into an ultra-cool lounge called the Silk Road Lounge, featuring awesome world music, tours of the collection, and free wine and beer tastings. This month, Houston’s Space City Gamelan performs Indonesian gamelan music, described as “Indonesian exotica” and “psychotropic jungle lullabies.” Cool. Free. 6–9 pm.

Food and Wine // Savor Dallas
It doesn’t take much arm twisting to convince us to eat and drink for two days straight. In fact, that’s what we do most weekends. But we’ll make a special point to hit Savor Dallas so we can stray from our usual spots. On Friday night, the Wine Stroll gives you plenty of chances to sip vino while exploring the Arts District. Saturday night is the International Grand Tasting, with dishes from restaurants such as Bijoux, Loft 610, and Nobu. And, this year, the Savor Dallas folks have added a Sunday FunDay with the Dallas Farmers Market. See you there. Mar 5–7, various locations. 888-728-6747.

Food and Wine // Friday Night Flights
What is better than great food paired with the perfect wine and a beautiful view of Dallas? Yep, nothing. (Winning the lottery doesn’t count.) That’s why we recommend Friday Night Flights at Nana. This week, enjoy two glasses of Pinot Noir and one Burgundy paired with mushroom cappuccino, pan-roasted duck breast, and grilled Kobe beef carpaccio. $20 per person. Reservations recommended. March 5, 6-8 pm.

Happenings // Dallas Auto Show
In the market for a new ride? The Dallas Auto Show is the largest five-day auto show in the country. Even if you aren’t going to buy anytime soon, you can check out the latest models from more than 30 manufacturers, concept vehicles, and environmentally friendly products and services. This way, when your friends ask, “Have you seen the new hybrid?” you will have the right answer—for once. Mar 3-7. Dallas Convention Center.

Food and Wine // Brunch at Lemon Bar
Apparently this West Village bar is such a popular spot for brunch they have decided to open  at 9:30 am on both Saturday and Sunday. Guess this means we will have to start getting out of bed before 11. Not only does Lemon Bar offer brunch specials such as pigs in a blanket and chicken and waffles, bottomless mimosas and bellinis are just $7. We also love this: copies of the NY Times, Dallas Morning News, or USA Today Weekend are available for free. 9:30 am–3 pm.

Nightlife // Oscar Night at the Alcove
We love the Academy Awards. But we also feel like our witty comments and intelligent banter are lost when we watch the show by ourselves. The Alcove Wine Bar solves that problem with its Oscar Night Party. Grab a seat on the couch and enjoy drink specials ($2 beers, $5 glasses of wine), munchies, and contests with prizes. And, yes, you are welcome to wear your Oscar-night finest. 6 pm.
