When I Went: April 4-10, 2013
Was That the Best Time of Year to Go? Spring is not too hot, the water is diamond clear, and it’s amazing. Just avoid March like the plague…spring breakers
Why I Went There: My amazing sister got married at the Banyan Tree Resort. It was amazing, but the downside to it was my family is very intrusive and I had about 16 seconds of R&R and time to myself, despite my going down a day before.
Who Went With Me? Family

We Stayed Here: Carretera Federal Chetumal
You Won’t Want to Miss: Paddleboarding on the water and snorkeling
Eat Here: Any of the restaurants on the resort will be a world class experience
Play Here: Blue Lagoon Club–they bring in street performers at midnight
If I Went Again: I would go with my boyfriend as opposed to my family.
How Did You Get There From Dallas? DFW to Cancun, then a car service to Mayakoba
Other Tips For Fellow Travelers: They have probably the best golf course I have ever seen. It shares a compound with an awesome golf academy, so the course is very well maintained, the boys had a blast on it, and drink service came around every 15 minutes on the nose.
