When I Went: February 12-16, 2013

Was That the Best Time of Year to Go? It was nice and the weather was pretty good but a little rainy. The lake was down because they had released the water from the dam, but it was still pretty for scenery of the mountains.

Why I Went There: To get away for the weekend

Who Went With Me? My boyfriend

We Stayed Here: The Hideaway bed and breakfast

You Won’t Want to Miss: Definitely take trips to do things on the lake–skiing, boating, tubing, fishing, etc. There are also lots of parks around for hiking and dog walking like Lakeway City park.

Eat Here: Hudson’s on the Bend. This was a fabulous intimate dining experience. The food was pricey but fantastic; it was totally worth it. Great outdoor patio for dining and unique decor inside the restaurant.

Play Here: We went on a day trip tour of the local Hill Country wineries as well. I highly recommend Becker Vineyards.

If I Went Again: Go during the summer to take more advantage of the lake activities

How Did You Get There From Dallas? We drove. Not too long of a drive–about three and a half hours.

Other Tips For Fellow Travelers: Our B&B was dog friendly and we brought our golden retriever with us.
