When I Went: June 5-9, 2013
Was That the Best Time of Year to Go? Summer was perfect, a little warm during the day but 60s at night. Just beautiful!
Why I Went There: Vacation–wine, food, relaxation, etc. Also, I spent time in San Fran. Iwas supposed to go to a Giants baseball game but American decided to keep us on the tarmac for six hours before we had the three-hour flight there so missed the whole game. 🙁
Who Went With Me? My boyfriend and two of our friends from Houston met up with us

We Stayed Here: W Hotel in San Francisco and the Wydown Hotel in St. Helena (I highly recommend it. It’s less than 20 rooms, but a major steal in an otherwise very expensive town.)
You Won’t Want to Miss: Get a driver to transport you around the city (nobody wants the hassle of drinking and driving). Also, drivers are a huge help in planning visits/tours to vineyards that you will never know about otherwise! We visited vineyards such as Trespass, Beau Vigne and Sodaro that we never would have even known existed if not for our wonderful transportation company, Burdick Tours.
Eat Here: French Laundry in Yountville–just for the experience alone–it’s a production brunch at Auberge resort. Gott’s/Taylor Refreshers–hamburger! Do the pasta tasting at Flour+Water in San Fran and Goose and Gander in St. Helena.
Play Here: Cave tour at Del Dotto–a little kitschy, but a fun experience (large wine pours). Quintessa has beautiful wines in an even more beautiful setting.
If I Went Again: Stay another day!
How Did You Get There From Dallas? DFW – SFO – rented a car in San Fran and drove 1.5 hours to Napa
Other Tips For Fellow Travelers: Go on a diet before your trip because you will be eating/drinking so much!
