Why I Went There: To celebrate the Fourth of July with a peaceful adventure.
We Stayed Here: Orchards Inn
You Won’t Want to Miss: Jerome Winery, in Jerome, Arizona, 30 minutes from Sedona. Earth Wisdom Jeep Tours (take the Vortex Tour.) Visit Jerome for shopping and local art galleries. Slide Rock State Park. Drive to Flagstaff, ranked one of the top 10 scenic drives in the U.S. Boynton Canyon trail, for hiking.
Eat Here: Elote — incredible Mexican food. The wait is at least an hour. Diablo Burger — the greatest burger in the world — in Flagstaff. Wildflower Bread Company — which is decent. 32 Shea — a cafe in Phoenix with delicious local food for brunch and great coffee. Apizza Heaven — good pizza and a great vibe.
Play Here: Enchantment Resort — for the Tii Gavo patio, and an amazing view and drinks. Slide Rock State Park.
If I Went Again: More hiking
