Thrift Studio Finds a Permanent Home

Last fall, Dwell with Dignity executive director Ashley Sharp told D Magazine that she had a goal to move Thrift Studio, her organization’s annual month-long home goods pop-up shop, into a permanent space. “Right now, we only do four weeks, which, as soon as people hear about it, we’re closed,” she said. “So, we’re kind of like the State Fair right now. But if we’re able to have a permanent space, and then we could do warehouse sales, [because] we’re always sitting on inventory.” She’s done exactly that. Earlier this month, the organization, which provides free interior design services to families and groups in need, announced that it bought a Design District showroom at 1833 E. Levee St. to become Thrift Studio’s permanent home.

SweatHouz’s New Sauna Spot

Sometimes, all you really need is to sweat it out, and SweatHouz is making that easier for D-FW residents. The Atlanta-based sauna opened its fourth North Texas location earlier this month. Located on Royal Lane, the 1,700-square-foot space includes eight private rooms as well as a beauty bar station with Dyson hair tools. Services, which promise benefits like improved circulation and chronic pain relief, include vitamin C-infused showers, cold plunges, hydromassages, and red light therapy. Memberships begin at $119, and wellness packs begin $175.
