7 Socially Distanced Workouts to Try in August and September

From yoga in Klyde Warren Park to virtual dance cardio, all of these workouts take place online or outdoors.

Body Mountain Bootcamp at Klyde Warren Park

Saturday, August 29 | 9 a.m.–9:45 a.m. | Free

After a brief hiatus, Klyde Warren Park’s free fitness series is back. This muscle-building cardio class is led by Body Mountain, a no-nonsense studio on Lemmon Avenue that will push you to “the peak of your physique.” Guests will be spread 12 feet apart, and advanced registration is required to ensure a small class size. Mindfulness Meditation at Klyde Warren Park 

Saturday, August 29 | 11 a.m.–11:30 a.m. | Free

Find your center with this meditation class led by Dallas Yoga Center. The practice will include breathing exercises, mindful movement, and more. Meditation newbies, don’t worry–all levels are welcome. Wear something comfy and consider bringing a mat to sit on. Register here.

Outdoor Yoga in the Design District

Monday, September 7 | 11 a.m.–12 p.m. | Free

Start your Labor Day with a free class led by BalancingEnergy Health & Yoga, one of Dallas’s highest-rated studios on ClassPass. Meet on the shady lawns by the Dallas Decorative Center; after class, stroll down to Ascension for a complimentary cup of coffee. The class will be limited to 24 participants. Outdoor Spin Class with S3

Saturday, September 19 | 8–9 a.m. | $10-15

Spin Sweat Session (a.k.a. S3) is a pop-up cycling series held in Cole Park Pavilion. Load your stationery bike into your trunk and head to 4000 Cole Avenue–the S3 coaches can help you unload and set up. Portions of the class will also be live-streamed for riders watching at home. September Challenge at GRIT Fitness

Buzzy fitness studio AKT has finally opened its first Texas location in Plano West. AKT’s dance cardio workouts were developed by celebrity trainer Anna Kaiser, whose longtime clients include Karlie Kloss and Shakira. Not comfortable visiting in person?
