The French Room’s stunning interior, painted in creams, whites, and golds, is a fitting location for a glamorous winter gathering. Elaborate decorations and holiday music set the scene in the ever-bustling dining room, where guests sip Champagne and exclusive tea blends from local purveyor Zatki. The three-course menu includes tea sandwiches, scones, and pastries. Executive pastry chef, Ruben Toraño, crafts dishes with seasonal notes such as eggnog, gingerbread, and candy cane. The Taschen Library at The Joule is an elegantly contemporary setting for an afternoon tea thanks to a backdrop of carefully curated coffee table books. Their weekly Sunday tea service commences with three blends (Moroccan mint green tea, silk road blend, and strawberry goji oolong). A savory course includes an apricot jam-adorned Brie tartlet, avocado toast points with crispy prosciutto, a smoked salmon macaron, and other inspired finger foods. The sweet course rounds out the experience with a banana chai bar, espresso mocha profiterole, and more. The Arboretum’s tea experience, like its decor, shifts to a holiday focus after Thanksgiving. Teas include wintry notes: Apple Spice and Peach Cinnamon Hibiscus, for example. The first course is a roasted chestnut soup with a cheese wafer topping, followed by a selection of sandwiches, including rich, savory options like herbed cream cheese on Belgian endive and smoked salmon mousse. The final dessert course includes scones and spreads as well as traditional wintertime pastries, like pecan tarts. And with a daily service, it’s effortless to pencil in this family-friendly tea during Christmas break.

The Ashton, a Fort Worth gem, is the city’s only historical boutique hotel. The interior offers a charming backdrop for an afternoon tea, which leans towards a traditional English tea. Guests begin with a complimentary flute of chilled Champagne and a selection of seasonal tea blends. The four-course experience begins with a roasted asparagus soup with crème fraiche, followed by winter-inspired tea sandwiches. To round out the menu: apricot and white chocolate scones with Devonshire cream and lemon curd.
