I imagine The Loveliest, with its stylish assortment of Turkish towels, Moroccan blankets, pressed linens, Ikat pillows, and an endless array of elegant and candy colored embroidery options, was beloved by a lot of people, but the shop held a special place in my heart.
It was one of the first boutiques I ever wrote about during my time at D Magazine. After paying a visit to their historic, white-painted carriage house in Uptown, I visited over and over again for personalized gifts or pieces that I currently cherish in my own home. Every purchase felt like you were buying into the chic, carefully curated vision of sisters Britni and Kelsey Wood and their mother, Joni, who were—naturally—the loveliest.
Last year, The Loveliest swapped their historic Uptown home for GAIA Empowered Women’s Cedar Springs studio, placing more focus on pop-ups and shop-in-shops across the country. However, all good things must come to an end. The Loveliest gals are moving on to new projects, per their Instagram below. The silver lining: an online sale (using the code “FAREWELL” for 25 percent off all products) happening now through November 1.
