Do you have a green thumb? Even if the answer is no, a couple of cocktails can encourage anyone to try something new. Whether you’re looking to get your hands dirty, or maybe just enjoy a dirty martini, Dallas has you covered. Or more specifically,  The Adolphus Hotel in Downtown Dallas and Gardenuity in the Design District have you covered. (Even Petal Pushers in Deep Ellum has you covered, but we’ve already filled you in on that.)

Gardenuity’s Pepper Party

Dallas-based Gardenuity ships complete container gardens right to customers doors, providing everything needed to plant, grow, and harvest a successful garden, with timely tips and recipes delivered via their mobile app. It’s an amateur gardener’s dream. On Thursday, they’re hosting a “Pepper Party” in their airy Design District headquarters. Starting at 6:30pm, Dallas’ own Black Eyed Distilling will provide  spicy margaritas (infused with peppers, naturally) while Gardenuity’s co-founder Donna Letier teaches you how to build your own portable container garden (with—you guessed it—peppers). Spicy!

If you’re more of a vino fan, The Adolphus Hotel is hosting a “Sip &Style” in their eternally-glamorous French Room. Dallas sommelier Leslie Hartman will introduce five different aromatic white wines, each paired with a perfectly selected complimentary cheese. Then, attendees can construct (and later, take home) a beautifully designed arrangement with the help of Weekly Floral.

What Should We Make of the Rangers’ Accidental Youth Movement?

It's been 26 years since a defending World Series champion leaned on this many young players out of the gate. In Texas' case, that wasn't the plan. But that doesn't make an influx of former first-round picks a bad thing, either.
