Since opening in Old East Dallas in 2005, Gretchen Hinkle Bell’s Dolly Python has become a veritable vintage institution, garnering fans such as Leon Bridges, Kacey Musgraves, and even Jean Paul Gaultier. We’ve deemed it a Best of Big D more than once, and almost every D editor has spent time pouring over the well-edited selection of jewelry, oddity-filled bell jars, the countless (but remarkably organized) racks of vintage furs, denim, and floral-print dresses.
So when one of us stumbled upon an Instagram post announcing that Dolly Python would be opening a location in Bishop Arts this summer, we knew it mattered. Dolly On Bishop will join a slew of new storefronts lining the street (see: Marcel Market), and will feature men and women’s vintage apparel, antiques, jewelry from a variety of decades, and a vintage music selection.
As of now, the shop at 313 N. Bishop Avenue is scheduled to open early summer, so start planning your vintage shopping trip post-Emporium Pie’s “Pie Scream” accordingly.
