Serena Williams is Coming to Plano This Weekend

You probably won’t be able to meet her. But maybe!

This is the moment we’ve been waiting for since we first found out Serena Williams’ clothing line was being carried at Neighborhood Goods, the new, innovative take on the department store that just opened in Legacy West. And by “we,” I mean me, and equally tennis-obsessed Kathy Wise. But also probably you, because Serena Williams is so much more than tennis. She’s everything, yes, but she also has a clothing line that looks so comfortable, and makes me want to wear a sequined shirt declaring I’m “Unbothered” every day for the rest of the year.

Per Neighborhood Goods’ Instagram, Serena will be stopping through Plano this Saturday to sip on a “Serenita” and hang from 5pm to 7pm. Which would be all aces, except the event sold out almost immediately. So why take the time to post about it? Several reasons!

The first: Serena’s Instagram is a joy, and you know she’ll be ‘gramming it up in Plano as soon as she touches down, so it’s worth knowing she’s here even if you don’t get to see her IRL. Fingers crossed she brings Alexis Olympia.

Secondly, most Neighborhood Goods pop-ups will stick around for six to 12 months, so she may come back. Or someone else amazing might pop in, like Reese Witherspoon, whose lifestyle brand Draper James also has a pop-up there, or someone from Stadium Goods who can discuss the importance of statement sneakers. The point is that we need to stay alert. Keep an eye on Neighborhood Goods’ Instagram stories. Download their app and turn on notifications. Stay vigilant!

The third reason is that we would all really like to know what’s in a “Serenita.” If you were one of the lucky first-100 to RSVP, please report back to us to fill us in.

Thank you for your time.
