Embarking on a vegan, gluten-free, or Paleo lifestyle is no easy venture, but it’s even more difficult when you think you have to give up your favorite sweet treats. Luckily, Dallas has a bevy of bakeries that can help you satisfy your cookie, donut, or even cinnamon roll cravings. Sugar on, Dallas diet followers.

Hannah’s Gluten-Free Bakery

With a story as sweet as her treats, Larissa Wilson opened up the bakery because her daughter, Hannah, wanted to help people who struggled with gluten and nut intolerances, just as she does. Hannah’s is located in both Uptown and Frisco, and is willing to adjust ingredients to fit your needs.

Unrefined Bakery

I started following the Paleo diet six years ago and just recently switched to the keto diet. Never in all my diet endeavors have I found a place that fits my needs so well. Overflowing with cookies, loaves of bread, cupcakes and even donuts, Unrefined is 100 percent gluten- and soy-free, 99 percent corn- and dairy-free, and 80 percent egg-free. And coming from a keto-vore, there are also plenty of options without refined sugar. With six locations across DFW, Unrefined is (almost) always right around the corner.

Reverie Bake Shop

There’s a reason this place is called Reverie. If you’re vegan, it’s definitely a dream. Plant-based and 100 percent vegan, the menu is overflowing with sweets ranging from cheesecakes to cannolis. There are also a multitude of breakfast items available (think quiche and apple fritters) to make your mornings a little easier. Located in Richardson, Reverie is 15 minutes down the highway and awaiting your arrival.

Cinnaholic

Completely vegan, Cinnaholic is like an ice cream shop for cinnamon rolls. Although the base is always the same, you get to choose between a variety of frosting flavors and toppings. The cinnamon rolls also come in a variety of sizes, from bite-sized baby buns to “cinnacakes.” In the mood for something a little more traditional? Cinnaholic offers fudge brownies and chocolate chip cookies too.
