Hello again, everybody! This is Michael “Grubes” Gruber, music director for your Texas Rangers. Welcome to my Super Awesome Baseball Playlist of Merriment and Mirth!

August is here and with it comes the worst day of the year according to the One True Muser, Craig “Junior” Miller. However, we survived August 9, so we should all congratulate ourselves for that! And as a treat for all of you survivors, let’s enjoy some music from the ballpark!

“About Damn Time,” Lizzo: This song has been dominating the charts all summer, and it’s a great track to wake up the ballpark before a game!

“Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” Selena: Selena’s forever greatness means everyone smiles when I play this between innings of games!

“Gimme All Your Lovin,” ZZ Top: One of ZZ Top’s biggest hits, this groovy rocker is a great pregame jam!

“Here For A Good Time,” George Strait: It wouldn’t be a Rangers game without hearing from the King of Country Music! And if you’re at a Rangers game, you better be here for a good time!

“Iko Iko,” Justin Wellington & Small Jam: This adaptation of “Jock-A-Mo” has been a major player on Tik Tok for a couple years, so I thought I would be cool and play it at the ballpark. How do you do, fellow kids?

“Party Like This,” Prophets and Outlaws: My Jesuit buddies Prophets and Outlaws sure know how to craft a fun song. My name is Grubes, and I like to party!

“Ready For It? (Bloodpop Remix),” Taylor Swift: Pretty much anything T-Swift touches turns to gold, and this song is perfect when running back highlights from a great Rangers win.

“Vacation,” Dirty Heads: Did you know Dirty Heads were still around? Neither did I, but it’s cool to hear them putting out another hit!

“Whole Lotta Love,” Led Zeppelin: Cole Ragans chose to introduce his starts with this classic rock song and its powerfully awesome guitar riff. Needless to say, it gets the people going!

“Worth It,” Fifth Harmony: I played this song after the Rangers introduced 2022 draft pick Brock Porter during a game. I think he will indeed be worth it!
