Local Gymnast Sticks It, Wins Gold. The World Olympic Gymnastics Academy already boasts two Olympic gold medalists, Nastia Liukin and Carly Patterson, and now the Plano gym can add Madison Kocian to the list. Judges gave Kocian’s uneven bars routine a 15.93 on Tuesday, helping the U.S. women clinch the gold in the team competition. I don’t know about you, but her near-perfect routine is totally inspiring me to focus on form as I do my Denise Austin pilates video this morning.

Rangers New Ballpark Now in Arlington Voters’ Hands. Arlington’s city council voted unanimously in favor of a special election that decides whether or not the city will split the cost of a $1 billion, retractible-roof stadium with the Rangers. Arlington voters will cast their ballots on Nov. 8, the same day as the presidential election. Not sure where you land on the issue? Arlington created a handy dandy website with all the information you’ll need about the project. The 51-page master agreement is a real page-turner.

Six Overdose On Synthetics in Plano Mansion. Six people in their late-teens and early-20s were rushed to the hospital after Plano police found them overdosing on synthetic drugs in a multi-million dollar home on Tuesday morning. A police officer was also sent to the hospital after being hit by one of the drug users. The Plano police say synthetic drugs, easily acquired over the internet, is becoming a big problem for the city.
