Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas’ (GSNETX) mission is straightforward yet poignant – to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who will make the world a better place. As they focus inwards to ensure their programming is relevant and available to all girls, GSNETX looks outward to recognize those who are walking alongside them.
During the 18th annual Women of Distinction Luncheon (WDL) on Oct. 28, 2022, presented by AT&T, GSNETX will recognize outstanding leaders, from high school students to executives, for their service to the community. The honorees include three Women of Distinction – Rebecca Acuña, Director of Government Affairs at PepsiCo; Vidya Krishnan, Chief Learning Officer and Global Head of Learning and Development at Ericsson; and Jennifer Stimpson, Science Educator at The Hockaday School – and one Man Enough to Be a Girl Scout – Hiawatha Williams, Founder and CEO of Williams Chicken. In addition, high school students Jordan Flint, Sofiaenid Rodney-Hernandez, and Gracie Wakefield will be honored as the Mary Anne Cree Young Women of Distinction.
Nickoria Johnson, Partner and Chief Diversity Officer at Credera, and Teresa Lin, Partner at Grant Thornton, are the 2022 WDL Co-Chairs.
The event will raise funds to provide crucial leadership development, mental health support, socio-emotional skill cultivation, and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), entrepreneurship, life skills, and outdoor leadership programs to more than 19,000 girls in Northeast Texas.
