Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas, an organization that inspires and empowers girls from under-resourced communities, is excited to announce plans for their second annual Power 2 the Girl Conference. The conference, presented by Toyota, is themed “Power H.E.R. (Health, Equity, and Reform)” and will provide girls in 6th-10th grade attending schools in low-income areas of Dallas the social and emotional tools they need to navigate this challenging time. Topics will include mental health, social justice, self-care, and gender equity.

This invitation-only conference will be presented as a series of four sessions, (March 11, April 15, April 29, and May 22). The sessions will be an innovative hybrid of in-person gatherings at schools with hands-on activities and live-stream components to allow guest speakers to share motivational content.

Last year’s inaugural Power 2 the Girl Conference served nearly 300 girls. Guest speakers like Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall and DISD Board Member Karla Garcia shared stories of overcoming obstacles in their life around racism, sexism, and immigration. Girls also explored topics such as healthy relationships, consent, STEM careers, and emotional regulation.

Sponsors include Toyota, Norton Rose Fulbright, Allstate Insurance Company, Pioneer Natural Resources, CBRE, Oliver Wyman, o9 Solutions, Boston Consulting Group, Jacobs Engineering, Ernst & Young Baker Botts, Vizient, D Magazine, TXU Energy, Witherite Law Group, Sidley Austin LLP, and National Security Bank.
