Quintessentially Cute Cottage Showcases the Best of Briarwood Beauty

Because having a great yard really is everything these days.

Curb appeal matters. A perfect example of this is on display in Briarwood at 4606 W Amherst Avenue. From its perfectly manicured lawn to the classic, pruned shrubs, and even the paint selection of the welcoming red door, it’s safe to say this home gives everyone who drives by a heart-warming pulse of Americana.

What’s even better than its cheerful exterior? Well, the renovated interior, of course. The property was recently opened up by removing three walls. The washer and dryer were relocated for a more functional laundry space, and additional hardwoods were added. Both bathrooms were remodeled, and designer light fixtures were installed. There is also a new hearth and mantle fireplace surround. The roof is set to be replaced any day now.

Our favorite room in the house has to be the formal dining area which is surrounded by windows and always seems cheerful and bursting with great light. We also are totally digging the remodeled kitchen and its sparkling stainless steel appliances. Updated electrical throughout is also a much-appreciated bonus and one of those things you totally don’t realize you need on your “must-have list” until the seller failed to add it to theirs.

Despite this jewel box’s petite interior, it boasts a bigger-than-expected backyard with a large swimming pool which was also recently renovated. There is also plenty of yard space for throwing the football, playing with your dog, or adding a swing set for the kiddos thanks to intentional landscaping that provides separation of yard and pool.

The home’s location is also perfect for just about everyone who is on the market for a new home. Newlyweds looking for your first home? You’ll love walking to Drake’s for date night. Empty nesters who are searching for something smaller to settle into? Meet your grown-up kids for margaritas at Jose and let them pick up the tab for once. Somewhere in between? Hit the Tollway and find yourself downtown for work in a matter of minutes.

To save you some time, here’s the bottom line: there aren’t many charming cottages available on the market that don’t have a “fix list” a mile long. So if you are on the market for a two, two in Dallas proper, this is your sign.
